We have a 'Smart Casual' dress code policy within the Clubhouse. What this means is we ask everyone to be smart, neat and clean, both on and off the course. The aim is to promote a smart yet relaxed atmosphere in the clubhouse. It is hoped that everyone will assist in maintaining the high standards expected both on the Course and in the Clubhouse, respectfully maintaining the traditions of our club.
In the clubhouse
What constitutes "˜smart casual' will be for each person to decide - noting that "˜smart' is an integral part of the definition. Clean is also an essential element. Please note:
Wet or muddy golf clothes and shoes are not to be worn in the Clubhouse at any time.
Shoes must always be worn. Ladies may wear open-toe sandals
Hats must not be worn within the Clubhouse (religious head coverings excluded).
Smart casual wear is welcome in the Clubhouse – smart jeans are permitted.
The following are deemed to be unacceptable in the Clubhouse or on the Patio
track suits, jogging bottoms, gym clothing,
beachwear (including flip flops / sliders / crocs),
football, rugby or other sporting shirts except when a high profile sporting event is being screened (e.g. World Cup.)
On the course & putting green
All golfers must wear appropriate golfing attire, including golf shoes, on the Golf Course and on the putting green at all times. Golf attire, as determined by convention and fashion, should always be smart.
Men’s shirts should be tucked in. Ladies may wear their shirts untucked if they have been designed to be worn that way.
Shirts should have collars unless they are golf-specific collarless shirts.
Ladies may wear golf-specific sleeveless shirts.
Golf shoes must be worn. Socks can be any length and colour.
Caps should not be worn backwards on the golf course.
The following are deemed to be unacceptable on the course & putting green:
Denim wear
Track suits, jogging bottoms, gym clothing.
Beach shorts
Football, rugby or other sporting shirts
Combat shorts/ trousers
Shoes can be changed in the car park, but changing clothes is not permitted anywhere other than in the Locker rooms.
Mobile phone use
Devices should be switched to ‘silent’ mode in all areas of the course & practice areas, the Clubhouse and patio.
Mobile phones may be used for data transmission within the Clubhouse and on the course.
Phone calls may only be made or received on the course in an emergency.
Phone calls may be made or taken in the Centenary Room (if vacant), Entrance halls, Corridors, and Car Park. Calls must not be made or received in the Dining Room, Lounge, Burrows Bar, Locker Rooms, Patio or Veranda.
Laptops and other computers may be operated within the Clubhouse and on the Patio but must not be used for video calls or for playing videos with sound.
