This membership category is designed for adults with some golfing knowledge and experience, but not yet of a standard to have a handicap. This 12-month Programme provides the opportunity to improve your golf through a combination of professional coaching and the support of a mentor from within the Club. Within 12 months it is expected you gain a handicap and become eligible to progress to full membership.
The Gerrards Cross Head Professional is Alex Nelson. He and his coaching team will guide you from your first visit to the Club through to reaching a golfing ability whereby you can become a full member.
As part of the entry process, one of the Professional Team will conduct a complete assessment of your golf game and agree with you the areas on which you need to work and construct a development plan to make your progression as effective as possible.
Alex and his team will be available to discuss your personal goals and development.
The Gateway programme relies on the ongoing support of your mentor. Please note that the Club is unable to provide mentors. It is therefore essential that you have a member who is willing and able to provide you with the support you will need.
The mentor will be expected to accompany you on the course on a regular basis, whilst guiding you on the rules and etiquette of the game. Mentors are also expected to introduce you to other members and generally facilitate your entry into the Club.
If you are keen to develop your golfing ability and progress to full membership of our great club, the GCGP may be the right opportunity for you. If you are interested, please contact Adam Grint, General Manager. Please note places are limited.
On receipt of your application, or when places become available, the General Manager will arrange your assessment session with our Professional team to gauge your current ability and potential. Please note this session costs £50 and is non-refundable. If you are accepted for the programme however, it is deducted from your membership subscription. If it is felt that you should be able to achieve a handicap within 12 months you will be invited to attend a meeting with the GM and a Club official accompanied by your nominated mentor, to discuss in more depth the programme and the process of progression to full membership.
Following this meeting if everyone is happy a 12 month Gateway membership will be offered.
